Hudson Bayou - Sarasota, FL Fishing Report on 1st Jul, 2025

Inshore fishing around Hudson, Florida has been consistently productive, with anglers seeing solid action throughout the early morning and late afternoon tides. Redfish are cruising the mangrove edges and oyster bars, responding well to live shrimp and cut bait. Sight casting opportunities have been excellent on calm days, especially around grassy flats where schools have been feeding aggressively. Speckled trout are holding in slightly deeper grass patches and drop-offs, especially where the water’s moving. Soft plastics on jig heads and popping corks with live shrimp are top choices right now. Many anglers are reporting slot-sized trout with a few over-slot fish mixed in. Snook are showing up in good numbers along seawalls, docks, and backwater creeks. Early morning topwater lures are producing explosive strikes, and live pilchards are working well as the sun rises higher. As summer heat builds, deeper shaded areas and moving water are key to finding active fish. Whether you’re fishing from a boat, kayak, or wading the flats, Hudson’s inshore bite continues to offer plenty of fun and opportunity for anglers of all levels.
